Founded in 1985 by the late John Saunders AO, co-founder of Westfield, Terrace Tower Group is a family run real estate and investment company.
With a foundation in commercial real estate, the Group invests across a number of asset classes, through its offices in Sydney, New York and Portland.

Legacy
The Saunders family wealth is sourced from the legacy of the late family patriarch John Saunders AO, co-founder of Westfield.
Born in Hungary and a WWII concentration camp survivor, John arrived in Sydney in 1950 to create a better life for himself. In his luggage was an English dictionary in which he scratched out the word “impossible”, the mindset he lived by.
After operating a delicatessen in Sydney’s Western suburbs, John and business partner Frank Lowy moved into residential and then retail property development, opening Westfield Place in Blacktown, Sydney in 1959. The following year, Westfield Development Corp listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. Over the next several decades, John and Frank built Westfield to be a global leader in shopping centre ownership and management.
Following 30 years of successful partnership, John stepped down from Westfield to focus on building Terrace Tower Group.

Terrace Tower Group has a reputation for developing and managing high quality retail shopping centres and commercial real estate in Australia.
The group’s expertise covers acquisition, development, financing, leasing and management.

Terrace Tower USA manages and owns a portfolio of high quality commercial real estate in the USA, with a focus on the West Coast.
Key USA real estate assets include:

Terrace Tower continues to opportunistically allocate to commercial real estate in the USA.

Responsible for the Group’s non-real estate investment operations, Terrace Tower Investment Management USA has built a global portfolio of direct and externally managed investments spanning:

The Saunders Family Foundation is an Australian, private foundation established in honour of the unwavering philanthropic legacy of John Saunders AO.
Dedicated to making meaningful impact through its support of a diverse range of charities, this well-established program, set up some twenty-six years ago by John’s daughters, Monica Saunders-Weinberg and Betty Saunders-Klimenko thoughtfully continues Saunders’s passion for supporting important and pioneering organisations across many facets of the community.
Today, under the visionary leadership of Executive Chair Monica Saunders-Weinberg, the foundation proudly supports and personally connects with many charitable affiliates while championing causes that inspire positive change and enrich lives including educational initiatives, The Sydney Children’s Hospital, Thread Together, Feel The Magic and the Growth Project.
Driven by connection, results and that ‘nothing is impossible’ ethos, Monica Saunders-Weinberg has personally devoted her experience as Founding Angel of Feel the Magic and Cornerstone Partner of The Growth Project while simultaneously Chairing the Sydney Children’s Hospital Gold Committee (2019-2021) – the largest charity event in Australia.
